Privacy Notice

Effective date: 15 August 2026 · Version 1.0
The short version. We don't know who you are, and we've built it that way on purpose. No name, no email, no login, no account, no location. We keep the titles you picked, the answers you gave, and the result we made — attached to a random token, not to you. We use that, combined with everyone else's, to improve Lorescope and study how tastes differ. We never sell your individual answers.

1. Who we are

Lorescope is operated by Driftwing Media LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Questions or requests: admin@lorescope.ai.

2. Our design stance: no personal identifiers

Lorescope collects no personal identifiers. You are a random session token and nothing more. This is deliberate. It makes "we don't sell your personal data" true by construction rather than by promise, and it means the value of what we build comes from aggregate patterns, which don't require knowing who anyone is.

What we never collect: your name · email address · phone number · any login or account · precise or street-level location · your raw IP address in stored or linkable form · your contacts · device fingerprinting beyond the minimum needed to run and protect the site.

And no sensitive categories at all — no health, race or ethnicity, religion, political views, sexual orientation, or biometric data. Not as an "optional question," and we do not attempt to infer them either.

3. What we do collect, why, and for how long

We do not collect payment information. Lorescope is free and has no paid feature.

4. The optional questions are genuinely optional

The age-range and region questions are skippable, nothing is pre-selected, and skipping them gives you exactly the same result. We ask only because comparing broad groups is the point of the research. If you'd rather not, don't.

5. What we do with it

What we do not do: we do not sell your individual selections, answers or results. We do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not track you across other websites. We show no third-party advertising.

6. Who else touches the data

We use a small number of service providers to run the site — a hosting and database provider, and the affiliate programme that handles book links. They act on our instructions under their own terms. We do not share your selections, answers or results with anyone else, except where we are legally required to, or to protect the Service or someone's safety.

7. Cookies and browser storage

Lorescope uses the minimum browser storage needed to work: a single random session token, held in your browser's session storage, which disappears when you close the tab. We use no third-party advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no analytics vendor — the measurement is our own, first-party, and cookieless.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of personal information. Because of how Lorescope is built, we usually hold none.

The honest nuance, stated plainly: since we collect no identifiers, we generally cannot connect a record to a specific person — which is privacy-protective, but it also means we cannot look up "your" data on request, because we have no way to tell which records are yours. We would rather say that than imply a power we don't have.

What we can do: every result has an ID, shown at the bottom of your result page. Send that ID to admin@lorescope.ai and we will delete that result and everything attached to it. If you believe we hold personal information about you, write to us and we will respond as applicable law requires.

We honour browser-level opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where they apply. Since we do not sell personal information or run targeted advertising, there is in practice nothing for such a signal to switch off.

9. Children

Lorescope is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored encrypted at rest with our hosting provider, with access limited to Driftwing. No system is perfectly secure, but collecting nothing identifying in the first place is the strongest protection we can offer you, and it is the one we've chosen.

11. Where data is held

Lorescope is operated from the United States, and data is processed there and on our provider's global edge network. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that data is processed in the U.S.

12. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice we will update the effective date above and post the new version here. If we ever want to collect something materially different — anything identifying, anything sensitive, or account linking — we will say so clearly and ask first, rather than quietly widening this page.
